Rectoscopy
Rectoscopy is performed at the Specialist Outpatient Care Department as a private procedure which is fully paid for by the patient.
Rectoscopy is an imaging method which closely examines abnormalities in the anus and rectum, thus helping to select the best treatment option. The purpose of this procedure is to directly view the mucous membrane of the anus and the lower part of the sigmoid colon to look for bleeding from the lower section of the large intestine.
Indications for the procedure:
problems defecating, rectal and perineal pain, rectal fistula, bowel incontinence, sphincter dysfunctions (e.g., postpartum), rectal polyps
